Join LPAC and friends for an extrodinary night of music with singer songwriter Jam Alker and his band at Mayne Stage in Chicago!
Soon after he found heroin, Jam Alker put down his guitar and did not pick it up again for ten-plus years. The ensuing decade, marked by extreme highs and lows, culminated in a long-needed reawakening. Now reunited with his guitar, he spins these experiences into stories, songs that explore life’s dark, gritty underbelly, without judgment or condemnation, but often with hope.
Music helped him change his life—and keeps him on his path. “Music is my therapy. I owe a great deal of my new life to my music,” he says.
He chronicles this story of addiction and recovery with his first full-length solo album, Sophrosyne, released July 2017.
National touring artist and recovery advocate, Jam Alker joins us Saturday, May 12 for a concert to benefit LPAC
